He was communicative before we met up, answered all of our questions and made us feel welcome before we even stepped foot on his boat. The boat was perfect for fishing and for fishermen/fisherwomen. We caught numerous species and size of fish to add to the prowess of our captain’s abilities. “Three of us went out with Captain Patrick to fish inshore. He took us to a mangrove area and as soon as my bait hit the water, boom! I reeled in a red that unfortunately was too small. We fished there for a little longer, then moved to another location. Capt Patrick was very tuned into the weather since there were storms on the horizon. Right before the bottom dropped out, we went under a bridge to seek shelter from the storm. Once it cleared, we began fishing again. We then caught 2 more reds and a snook. We had a great day of fishing, and he even gave us an extra hour because of the rain. He is a great Captain baiting everyone’s hooks, and landing the fish for you. You can tell he really loves his job and enjoys the people he takes fishing. Next time we’re back in Captiva we will definitely go out with Captain Patrick again.”

“Probably a number of local captains can put you on a few fish on an average day, but Capt Patrick took myself and an absolute non-fisherman out on a day that was so windy (25 knots!) that he couldn’t get to any of his honey holes, but still managed to keep us very busy with quite a few nice Speckled Trout and plenty of other species. “We went out at noon with Capt. Pat and had a gorgeous day. He met us on the shore of the Pine Island Sound in his flats boat and the two of us boarded. He was super-helpful and a great guy to spend a few hours fishing with. I am an experienced Great Lakes fisherman, and my buddy was just along for the ride and isn’t nearly as serious about fishing as I am. But, he caught the big redfish, which Pat filleted for us. We had that fresh redfish for dinner that night and both of our wives loved it. We boated about 10 fish in 4 hours, including snook, redfish, and a few cats. Pat kept the bait fresh and showed a lot of patience with all the rigs we landed in the trees! We’ll go out with him next time we visit Sanibel Island, and maybe we’ll talk our wives into coming along. You can’t have a bad time on this guy’s boat.”
